Famous Birthdays, Julie Andrews!

Dame Julie Elizabeth Andrews, DBE  or better known as Julie Andrews was born on October 1,  1935. In 2000, she was made a Dame for services to the performing arts by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace.

A former child actress and singer who made her Broadway debut in a 1954 production of The Boy Friend, and rose to prominence starring in musicals such as My Fair Lady and Camelot. She made her television debut in 1957 via the title role of Cinderella, which was seen by over 100 million viewers.

Her best projects includes Mary Poppins in 1964, The Sound of Music in 1965, The Americanization of Emily, Hawaii, Alfred Hitchcock’s Torn Curtain, and Thoroughly Modern Millie to name a few.
